Kathleen was born about June 23, 2010 and weighs about 55 lbs. Where do we begin....we were called to take her litter of 11 pups, but after having them on pineswood.com for a day there were only 8 left when we arrived. Cute pups, all doing ok except for the one that was underweight, dehydrated and had a deformed front leg. The leg actually curls like a pig's tail - very sad. Thankfully, they decided to turn over Mom and another dog to us while we were there. Kathleen had been separated from her pups for awhile, she and a Chocolate Lab, lived way out back through the woods chained to run down dog coops. Kathleen was also underweight with tape worms falling out her butt and she walked to our truck. With her initial vet visit we also found out she had pymetria, infection of the uterous, and she'd have been dead in about a month. With antibiotics and wormers she gained some health and then was spayed which took care of the infection, thankfully it was caught in time. She is a robust and happy girl now and is looking forward to a life like she has never known. Kathleen has oddly droopy eye lids which I can't pick what breed they came from, maybe someone out there will have a suggestion. She's great with other dogs and did fine on the hour long car ride here - nice girl - lucky girl.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Each Joyful Rescues pet has been thrown away at least once. Pets are not disposable just because your life has changed.
