They were just too busy for me! Cam was born about December 9, 2009 and weighs about 11 pounds. No, kidding, this guy is CUTE!!! He won our hearts over shortly after arriving. He is going to make someone very, very, happy. I can't imagine how he was given up because his humans were too busy, but if that was the case then he is better off here because we all love him. He has some anxiety when being left alone and he truly needs to have his humans around much of the time. Cam can be around other dogs just fine, but we feel he'd like to be the only dog in the house, he's a human hog. His main purpose in life is snuggling and loves to be under blankets. Cam is good on leash, good with cats and did great with toddlers around his last home. As with so many small dogs they struggle with house training and he is used to having potty floor pads handy for those occasions that he just can't hold it. He'll be waiting for your application, but no hurry, we love having him. Update from foster mom: Cam is a great little dog. He is all about his people. He is a super cuddler. He is working hard on going potty outside. But he is a super smart dog and learning fast he has had a two accidents in the house in the past 4 days. Both times he used the pee pads - I'm very happy with his progress. He is great with my teenagers. He really likes chasing cats. He enjoys going on walks and riding in riding in the car. Cam is a big lover and we are hoping that he finds his forever family. He does think he owns the person he is bonded to which is me. We have been working on this with him. He was not happy the first few days but his is beginning to understand his place in my pack. Cam has to work for everything and not allowed to show any dominate behavior. Cam co-exists with my dogs but they are not friends. he has had very little interest in play or hanging out with my dogs. He is respectful of my dogs but He likes people. plain and simple. He does well with me coming home at lunch but I believe that he would do better with someone who is home most of the day. Cam is a great dog. we are hoping for he find his forever people soon. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
