Dumpster Dolly was born about September 1, 2010 and weighs maybe 8 lbs. She's a bit of a thing that is as cute as any chia. we've had. Curious about her name? Well, that is where she was found - in a dumpster in a nearby town outside of a senior complex. Open the lid and what nestles around your throat but a tiny, brown, absolutely heatlhy and adorable chihuahua! This little girl is great with other dogs and was fine in the car. She's delightful and you are going to be very glad that someone, literally, threw her away. Oh, so many little dogs struggle with house training that you may have to work on this and many of them benefit from having a potty floor pad down for those moments that they just have to go.
UPDATE: We realized that our precious Dumpster Dolly has very bad luxating patellas in both rear legs. 11/15/2012 she underwent surgery for the worse one. This surgery was done at All Creatures by Dr. Albert at a far reduced rate of approximately $1,300.00. This little girl is so worth fixing, we just had to do this for her and so many wonderful people pitched in and made this possible - thank you!
Update 1/2013: The appointment with Dolly went very well yesterday. Dr. Albert said the surgery was a ?smashing success? and she is doing fantastic!!! In 8 weeks he wants to see her again and will knock her out to feel around and then determine if he needs to do the other knee or not. Sometimes fixing one helps enough where I guess it may not be needed to do the other. So 8 more weeks of healing and then he will take it from there. Linnea her Foster Mom
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $325.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, a 4.5# bag of Science Diet food, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
