I Needed Too Much Attention.
Maggie Andover was born May 21, 2007 and weighs about 25 lbs. She's adorable and such a good girl. She is here because her humans worked too much so two of the dogs came here to find a new home, but they kept the smaller, younger, one. Maggie is good with kids and other dogs. She is a little nervous in a car and may whimper some. She will hang with you off leash and she is good on leash. She is pretty good about house training, but she is used to being able to go on a floor potty pad so one of those should be made available until you are sure of her status. She's a cutie and we are glad she's here. Someone out there is going to be even happier when you find her.
Update from foster mom: I?m so happy we decided to bring Maggie Andover to our home to foster until she?s adopted. We?ve fostered around 50 dogs over the years for Joyful Rescues, and I consider Maggie to be one of only about 4 I would consider a ?perfect? dog! She?s sweet, quiet, only very slightly timid?I think just because she?s in a new situation, but her tail?s always wagging and she loves being picked up for petting. She knows her name and comes eagerly when called, always seeming happy that we called her to us. Maggie immediately bonded nicely with my husband, too, so no male fear issues. She follows me everywhere as if I?m the Pied Piper! She enjoys playing with a racquetball...so you may want to keep a couple of them on hand. Maggie?s fur is silky soft, a beautiful deep blonde. I think she knows how pretty she is?she gazes into our bedroom mirror for the longest time! She?s a light eater, so maybe she?s watching her figure. She seems to be the perfect size and weight?I?m jealous! Maggie?s been using our doggy door to our fenced back yard like an old pro, doing all her pottying outside?no accidents in our home so far?so I do believe she is housebroken. Of course, if you can?t offer her the convenience of a doggy door to a secure yard, you?ll need to take her out at regular intervals. Maggie is agile, and has no problem jumping on and off the couch as she wishes without needing a boost. She sleeps in bed with me (and a few of our other dogs) all night long?not a sound. Speaking of other dogs, Maggie gets along nicely with all our dogs?a variety of breeds and sizes, and should do very nicely in your home if you have other dogs?as long as they reciprocate her acceptance! I only crate Maggie when she?s eating so my other dogs won?t steal her food. Otherwise, I find no need to crate her. She?s not been one bit destructive in our home. She?s not a barker?in fact, I?m not sure I?ve actually heard her bark at all yet. She?s a kind, gentle spirit?beyond sweet! If we didn?t already have so many of our own Maggie is one we?d add to our family in a heartbeat! Whoever is approved to adopt her won?t have any regrets?just be ready to enjoy some very devoted loving! In the meantime, we?ll be enjoying her!
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $325.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
