Davey was born about November 12, 2004 and weighs, probably, about 10 lbs. He is more fur than anything and was very sweet, even upon arrival, when we were poking and proding. We were told he came out of a cage on top of cage puppy mill where he was never let out only to do his 'business', but those days are over. A lady was able to take him out of that situation and so she did and then she sought us out to take him in, get his fixed up and find him a new home. We sure are glad she went that extra effort and even brought him to us from an hour away. He did great on the couple of car rides to get here and the place where he spent a couple nights had a couple little kids. Davey would like a home with older children. Along with all the new sights and sounds and wondering what happened to the only life he'd ever known the busy kids were not his favorite part of being freed. Upon arrival I thought there was greece or something on his face but turns out he had an AWFUL dental infection that was oozing onto his lips. We also gave him a dental and now he needs a new, understanding, home of where he is been and patience in teaching him new lifelong skills. Davey will need house training and if you'd like more information on working with mill dogs please do some research or ask us for our notes. Also, we need you to understand that some dogs benefit from potty floor pads throughout their lives. After his dental he only has 8 teeth left.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $250.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, a 4.5# bag of Science Diet food, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
Each Joyful Rescues pet has been thrown away at least once. Pets are not disposable just because your life has changed.
