I am a beautiful Poodle mix!
Sheila was born September 11, 2007 and weighs about 18 lbs. She is simply adorable in her fluff of fur and she is learning how to love and to be loved. She has been in a puppy mill producing off spring for pet store shelves. Due to a decline in business because of the economy she has been released from duties and now able to live a normal life. She will need patience to understand a world she has never known and lots and lots of love to make her understand just how wonderful us humans can be. She is good with other dogs and another dog would be good for her to learn to adjust. She is also fine with cats. Sheila (nicknamed Snookie) loves to wear clothes and expecially her pink hoodie. She adores her foster family but will still hide when strangers visit. Going potty outside is still a work in progress but she is wonderful about using the floor potty pads.
Sheila's Adoption Fee is 200.00.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
The fees for our puppies/dogs normally run $200-$350 but can be more for an extremely adoptable dog. For a senior or high maintenance dog (behavioral/medical issues) the fee will be more negotiable. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, a 4.5# bag of Science Diet food, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
Each Joyful Rescues pet has been thrown away at least once. Pets are not disposable just because your life has changed. Before you decide to bring a pet into your home, make absolutely sure that it will be a lifetime commitment. When our pets leave us we want them to go to their forever homes. By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt, but also others in or needing to come into rescue.
