I Strut!
Austin was born about October 28, 2010 and weighs about 45 lbs. He has the cutest walk, like a little model strut. He knows sit and will jump on your bed for hugs and snuggles. He loves to play with toys, too much fun! He did great in the car coming here. Austin came here from a high kill pound in Ohio. One of our volunteers were approached by a shelter worker, that she's communicated with for years, begging for her to take this dog. He was her favorite and due to the massive high kill nature of this pound he was living in a wire bottom cage and was there for a month! He was certainly a size too large for this confinement but if he were in one of the concrete kennels he'd have been long gone. You see, the larger the dog the faster they die. Austin adjusted to life here like a dream. I can't imagine him being killed and am SO glad he is here!!!
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, a 4.5# bag of Science Diet food, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
Each Joyful Rescues pet has been thrown away at least once. Pets are not disposable just because your life has changed. Before you decide to bring a pet into your home, make absolutely sure that it will be a lifetime commitment. When our pets leave us we want them to go to their forever homes. By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt, but also others in or needing to come into rescue.
