They Say Everyone Has a Story. Lady was born about September 4, 2006 and weighs about 70 lbs. She is good on leash and very good with other dogs and does great in a car. She is a dog that will bond strongly with her humans, they will be her world. Lady is too interested in cats to live with any. She's not a barker and will be happy to sit and watch you fix dinner or sit by you while you do your chores, she will be forever dedicated. Why she is here: Lilly is with us because her human Mom died at about 50 years old, very unexpectantly. Her Mom had lived in one mobile home, but the roof collapsed so they pulled in another right beside it. Her husband did not live there with her, he lived out back in the woods. A few months before the woman passed away her adult son and his wife pulled in a small travel camper that they lives in. This couple had a couple kids, one as young as 4, and it was the first time Lilly had been exposed to children. She was worried at first meeting but then she decided they were ok things to be around, but she might prefer an adult only home. The younger couple is now being evicted from the property by the husband of the deceased, the young man was his step son. So, now the dogs had to go or they would also be disposed of in whatever way was handy. In closing, I feel I need to tell you that we've taken about 20 dogs off this property in the last several years. We kept spaying and neutering what she decided to keep and removing what she allowed us to remove, but we just couldn't get ahead of the game. Only the social workers, in our fair nation, can understand how horrific some of these situations are. I'm sure we visit the same homes over and over just as they do. There are times when you see some of this stuff that it sucks the life right out of you for awhile. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations.
