I SWIM! Santana was born about April 28, 2012 and weighs about 75 lbs. This big, beautiful, boy is said to have some man issues, so our guy will be lavishing him with love! We are sure he will win him over so it should be easier for him to fall for the next guy in his life. So, if you are considering Santana you'll want to be sure the guy in your life is willing to put a little extra effort into his new canine companion. He is wonderful with other dogs, walks great on leash and doesn't seem to be much of a barker. He's been a real love! We received a plea for help from a high kill area and had a little space to squeeze a few wonderful dogs in. They all rode beautifully on the 16 hour drive here and has whispered that they sure are glad to be in a safer state than where they came from!!! There is a wonderfully, kind, female, vet in the Missouri/Kansas area that also does rescue. She works with a couple in her area, but once in a while she gets over full and needs to send some to other areas for a safe refuge. We took her dogs twice before so she reached out to us again and we promised to help. Susan and Eileen took off for the meeting in Indianapolis and made it a fun 3 day adventure! They arrived back with a van full of wonderful dogs that made the long trip straight from Kansas to us. They were all easily handled as we took them from their crates and escorted them to the 'Dog House' where there were clean blankies, warmth and food that the rest of the staff had so carefully prepared excited about the new arrivals. So, we don't know a lot about them, but we are sure we will be able to find wonderful, caring, homes for this group of beautiful and, seemingly, well behaved group of young, or adult, canine companions!!! We have found out he loves the water! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
