Dill Harris was born July 16, 2012 and will probably weigh in the 50-75 lb. range. He is very golden yellow, just a gorgeous color! For Dill life is an adventure, your typical boy that is into everything and very busy. Dill Harris was born with a bobbed tail. Maggie Grady is the Mockingbird Mother and she is as sweet as can be. She is mostly Aussie, but many of the pups have short coats and look very much like yellow labs. Mom weighs about 50 lbs., Dad must have been larger by looking at some of these pups. Maggie did come to us with heartworm and has done very well with treatment. As a result of her being positive these pups MUST be kept on heartworm preventative AT LEAST through their 7th month of life to ensure that they will not develop any worms if they did inherit some of the larvea from Maggie. We are treating with Advantage Multi now, but you must be prepared to continue with whatever heartworm preventative your vet recommends. Maggie and the, couple day old, Mockingbirds were moments away from being stuffed into a gas chamber when volunteers, at the pound, stopped them and took them home to foster until the pups were old enough to travel and then two of our wonderful volunteers jumped into the Escape for a full two days of driving to bring this collection to the safety of the north. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, a 4.5# bag of Science Diet food, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet.
